On May 15th 2014, the DCU MSRG attended the European Open Cloud Collaboration Workshop representing the CACTOS project. The event was organised by the European Commission and Ocean at the European Commission headquarters in Brussels.
The workshop was opened by the head of European Commission Software and Services, Cloud Unit – Ken Ducatel, who delivered his speech highlighting the importance of trust, data security, certification and openness of standards for European CLOUD services. DCU MSRG presented the CACTOS vision of context-aware cloud topology optimisation and simulation with respect to our CactoScale, CactoOpt and CactoSim components, and identified touching points of possible collaboration and/or data exchange between some of the present participants on basis of used applications i.e. Palladio and goals i.e. Energy Saving, Cost , Resource Utilisation.
The workshop focused on Service Management, Data Management, APIs and Standards where each participant made a short presentation of their results and approaches followed by discussion and questions from others.
